Elevating Black SMH Part 2: Focus on Black Male MH – Mar 27 – 930am-11:30am

Focus on the unique, often unnoticed, mental health needs of Black males.

This learning will support the early identification of Black male students who would benefit from mental health services within school systems. Black males are frequently overlooked for mental health support and often encounter structural barriers and inequities that can invalidate their emotions. This session will honour and acknowledge the unique vulnerabilities of young Black males, fostering a deeper understanding of their mental health needs and promoting an identity-affirming approach to supporting their emotional well-being.

Audience: Regulated and non-Regulated SMHP, MHLs, managers of psychology and social work services, student support staff, managers of student support staff

Language: The presentation will be delivered in English. Materials and breakout rooms will be available in English and French.

For more information or to register, contact your school board’s mental health leader.
