Share your voice with our blog!
Do you have stories to tell, insights to share, or ideas to explore? If so, we want to hear from you!
Our blog is a platform for young people like you to express themselves, showcase their talents, and engage with a wider audience. It’s also a platform where young people can come and learn from other young people.
For now, we are collecting short submissions to create lists of ideas and strategies that students can use to support their own mental health.
Click the link next to the prompt that you want to contribute to and fill in the form to submit to the blog.
Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind before getting started.
- Open to students of all grades attending a public or Catholic school board in Ontario.
- Consider how your submission can bring a sense of hope, meaning, and belonging for others. Be mindful of sharing information that could be sensitive for others.
- The submission should be framed positively and never make light of mental illness or equity concerns.
- Slurs or comments that are offensive are not acceptable in your submission.
- Submissions will be reviewed by School Mental Health Ontario team members with these guidelines in mind prior to posting them. People who do not meet the guidelines will be notified that their submission was not accepted.
- Keep your word count under 150 words.
- Parent/caregiver consent is required to contribute to the blog.
- If your submission is selected to be posted on the blog, you will receive a small honorarium as a thank you for sharing.
To contribute to our blog, click on the link next to the prompt that you want to submit to. You can submit responses for more than one prompt. Submissions will be accepted until November 30, 2024.
We are excited to read your submissions and share your voice with our audience. If you have any questions, please email Alina at amedeiros@smho-smso.ca.
