School Mental Health Ontario releases new, premier resource designed to support student mental health literacy & help-seeking for secondary students

MH LIT: Student Mental Health in Action, full release available now!

A series of four lesson plans for secondary teachers to support the development of student mental health knowledge and help-seeking skills. The lessons align with the School Mental Health Decision Support Tool and are designed to help secondary students understand mental health and mental illness, the signs of mental health problems and how/where to access help when needed.

School Mental Health Ontario launched MH LIT: Student Mental Health in Action as an early release last spring, and over the summer months educator focus groups were held. The feedback provided through these focus groups has been used to enhance the final release of the lesson plans.

The resource also offers additional supportive materials, including a school readiness checklist, a secondary school leaders implementation resource, educator preparation suggestions and parent companion letters.

Thank you, for everything you do to continue to support student mental health.
