New community of practice for Black school mental health professionals
School Mental Health Ontario is launching an affinity group for Black regulated School Mental Health professionals. This group is for school mental health professionals (SMHP) who identify as African, Black, Afro-Caribbean and Afro-latinx. This space will be one where Black SMHP can:
- share their experiences in the field of school mental health
- build connections across the province
- help inform the direction of mental health resources for students that identify at African, Afro-latinx, Afro-Caribbean and/or Black navigate and thrive through the education system
The group will meet at 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month on zoom. The first meeting is on Jan. 18, 2023.
This is an informal drop-in space, however, you will be required to register to receive the zoom link.
This group will be supported in english by three school mental health practitioners: Patricia Codner, Tracey Grose, and Gwendolyn Fearing-Afflick.
