Updated: Suicide Risk Assessment and Management (SRAM)

Facilitated by Dr. Jennifer McTaggart, a leading expert in child and youth mental health from McMaster Children’s Hospital

Co-hosted with Dr. Jennifer McTaggart, this Suicide Risk Assessment and Management (SRAM) session will provide an updated version of the self-directed Suicide Risk Assessment and Management series previously offered by SMH-ON, and will also include the latest data and trends, considerations for assessing and managing risk with neurodiverse and younger students, as well as the opportunity to ask questions.

The learning objectives include:

1. To learn the theories underlying suicide and the general nature of suicide risk

2. To learn the contents of a youth suicide risk assessment

3. To learn how to engage in safety planning with suicidal youth and their families

Note: This training will replace the SRAM Foundations training currently available on the SMH-ON Leadership Portal. It will serve as a prerequisite for DBT-SRAM training, as well as other advanced and expansion trainings being developed within this learning series.
