Leading Through a Trauma-Sensitive Lens: Six Principles

Explore six trauma-sensitive principles to help school and system leaders build safe, connected, and supportive environments.

Trauma-sensitive schools build upon the foundations of mentally healthy schools by supporting schools and staff to intentionally create predictable, welcoming and inclusive environments that promote healing, well-being and academic success.

This webinar will explore how system and school leaders can strengthen trauma-sensitive practice by creating the conditions where students and staff feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging. Participants will learn how to apply six trauma-sensitive core principles—identity-affirming practice, safety, choice, trustworthiness, collaboration, and agency—to guide leadership decisions, relationships, and school-wide practices.
