La plupart des \u00e9tudes ont indiqu\u00e9 que les avantages \u00e9taient plus importants lorsque la page de coloriage employait une image structur\u00e9e (formes g\u00e9om\u00e9triques complexes, carreaux complexes, mandalas, pages de coloriage pour adultes, etc.) par opposition au coloriage de formes libres utilisant une page blanche.
