Were they paying attention? Diamond &amp; Lee (2011) identify that children, ages 3 to 11, with strong self-control, less impulsivity, and better attention tend to have better health, earn more, and commit less crime than those who lack these skills.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TrackChangeTextInsertion TrackedChange  BCX0 SCXW146606486\"><span class=\"TextRun Underlined  BCX0 SCXW146606486\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun  BCX0 SCXW146606486\">However,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackChangeTextInsertion TrackedChange  BCX0 SCXW146606486\"><span class=\"TextRun Underlined  BCX0 SCXW146606486\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun  BCX0 SCXW146606486\">Ruiz\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackChangeTextInsertion TrackedChange  BCX0 SCXW146606486\"><span class=\"TextRun Underlined  BCX0 SCXW146606486\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun  BCX0 SCXW146606486\">(2014) found that young children exposed to trauma may be described by their teachers as disruptive and inattentive which may be mistaken as hyperactive.
