I&#8217;ve just found 10,000 ways that won&#8217;t work.&#8221; <span class=\"TextRun  BCX0 SCXW120608274\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun  BCX0 SCXW120608274\">Consider using additional quotes that reflect cultural diversity. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ask students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Think-pair-share how different life might be if Mr. Edison had chosen to quit after his first few attempts to invent the light bulb.<\/li>\n<li>Write their own quote that will help them to persevere.<\/li>\n<li>Share the quotes with the class and post them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class='card'><div class='card-header' role='tab' id='Adaptations-0'><a data-toggle='collapse' data-parent='#accordion0' href='#collapseOneAdaptations-0' aria-expanded='false' aria-controls='collapseOneAdaptations-0'><h3 class='mb-0'><em class='fas fa-angle-down rotate-icon'><\/em> Adaptations<\/h3><\/a><\/div><div id='collapseOneAdaptations-0' class='collapse' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='collapseOneAdaptations-0' data-parent='#accordion0'><div class='card-body'><p>For older students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have\u00a0students\u00a0discuss things they do well. How is perseverance a part of becoming an expert?<\/li>\n<li>Ask\u00a0students\u00a0to develop ways to encourage others to keep trying. A student with strong self-discipline has been shown to have stronger academic achievement than those with just a higher IQ (Duckworth &amp; Seligman, 2005).
