The point is to grow your understanding step by step. What can you try next?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThat feeling of math being hard is the feeling of your brain growing.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIf you catch yourself saying, \u2018I am not a math person,\u2019 just add the word \u2018yet\u2019 to the end of the sentence.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Invite students to design and create a poster about the statement\u00a0of their choice. It provides a space for learning through difficulties, and for thriving in spite of hurdles (Dweck 2006; Dweck, 2008; Boaler, 2013).
